singer/songwriter/looper
Jillian Bessett is a vocal loop artist from Tucson, AZ who uses the Boss RC-505 to create a lush audial landscape beneath layers of intricate harmonies. Her evocative lyrics and charming stage presence has endeared her to audiences throughout the southwest music scene--opening for Lake Street Dive, Courtney Marie Andrews, Sarah Shook and The Disarmers, and The Messthetics (ex Fugazi). The keystone, however, is that instantly recognizable smoky alto voice that has prompted comparisons to Amy Winehouse, Feist, Nina Simone, and Adele.
In addition to her unique solo set, Jillian also fronts a full band under the moniker Jillian and the Giants. Their 2016 album Mr. Airplane came in at #19 on KXCI’s Top 100 Albums of the Year and has over 67K streams on Spotify.
Jillian’s brand new album JOY is a reimagination of her solo loop set with full band production. It was recorded and mixed at Saint Cecilia Studios in Tucson, AZ. Listen here on Spotify.
